Greetings, April!

Writing tips, new book covers, giveaways, and more! This April newsletter is filled with a lot of content!

New Cover

You may or may not have seen, but Shattered Wishes has a new cover! I wanted to change it to something that would better capture the story and bring in the proper audience. It’s a more mature story, so I was going for an adult romance aesthetic. I’m really proud of the illustration and overall cover, and I hope you love it, too!

Shattered Wishes is currently available to read on Wattpad!

Early Access & Special Content

I’m uploading early access and special content to my Patreon! If you support my Patreon, you’ll have access to chapters before they go live for free, exclusive stories, and more.

Writing Tip

I’ve decided to do quick writer tips in these newsletters — something as a thank you to give back to you as awesome readers and writers. These are usually going to be more simplified tips to hopefully help you improve your writing.

The first tip I’d like to give you is: set realistic goals.

What is a realistic goal? It’s a goal you can achieve without outside influence.

Unrealistic goal: I will have an agent before the end of 2020.

This goal is unrealistic because in order to get an agent, you have to have someone else say yes. The writing industry is extremely subjective and there are no guarantees of when you’ll get that yes.

Instead, make a goal for something that’s within your control. A great example is to make a goal of writing for a certain length of time every week. Start small and work your way toward larger goals.

Remember: make realistic goals that are within your control!

Giveaway!

I’m excited to announce I will be doing a giveaway for one serial writer to win a coaching session with me! The winning writer will have the opportunity to get editorial feedback on their manuscript from me and have a call with me (up to 1 hour) to discuss their manuscript. I’m super excited to do this for you all, and I can’t wait to see the submissions!

This giveaway is specifically for novella length manuscripts!

Personal Stuff

April has been a month of learning for me. With everything going on, I’ve been learning how to sew masks for my friends, family, and community. It’s been a fun project to do!

On the entertainment front, I recently finished watching The Originals and I’ve started watching the spin-off, Legacies! What are some shows you think I should start watching next?

Thanks!

I hope you’re all taking care of yourself during these difficult times. Please remember to take a deep breath. It’s okay to be taking things slowly!
